02 — stay with us
THE CAMPs
Our Snowboard Camp places you in a fun, supportive, and performance-focused learning environment alongside like-minded snowboarders.
I like to think of it as more of a retreat than a camp, good living, hidden spots, the Japan snow, lakeside sunsets, and a week dedicated 100% to becoming a better snowboarder.
Ive always liked how surf camps worked, hidden away on a boat, lots of filming and review… being relaxed and dealing with whatever the ocean (or in our case the snow) gives or throws at us!
Every day is planned around the current conditions, ensuring we make the most of the best riding and learning opportunities available. Whether that’s carving high-speedgroomers, exploring tree runs, or building confidence in deeper snow, each day isdesigned to maximise both progression and fun.
My coaching approach combines detailed technical development with plenty of mileage on the mountain. Throughout the week we’ll cover:
• Posture and the Brilliant Basics
• The Art of the Turn
• Becoming an all round rider (ATV)
• Advanced movements and reading different terrain
• Building confidence in deep powder and the trees
• Personalised progressions based on your goals
Video analysis is a key part of the camp experience. Using on-hill iPads & review sessions, we’ll break down your riding, provide clear feedback, and help you understand exactly what changes will have the biggest impact on your performance.
Depending on conditions and energy levels, we may also head out for a couple of evening riding sessions under the lights.
Who is this camp for?
This camp is designed for snowboarders who are already comfortable making turns on
most parts of the mountain and are looking to take their riding to their next level.
You don’t need to be an expert rider, but you should be comfortable spending a full day
on the mountain and be stoked to learn, challenge yourself, and ride with others who also share the passion for snowboarding.
You’ll be staying in our self-catered lodge overlooking beautiful Lake Toya.
Quiet, secluded, and surrounded by nature, it’s a magical place to unwind after a full
day on the mountain. It's a retreat, of sorts.
Every guest has their own private bedroom, while the communal living space provides
plenty of opportunities to relax, socialise, and review the day’s riding. Facilities include:
• Private bedroom for every guest
• Large communal living area
• Cinema screen for video analysis and movie nights
• Games
• Stunning lake views + balcony
• Peaceful surroundings
A traditional onsen is within walking distance of the lodge and is pretty epic
recovery after a day on snow.
We provide daily transport between the lodge and Rusutsu Resort. Airport transfers and
flights are NOT included, but we can pick you up from the resort liner drop off in
Rusutsu.
Lift pass is included for the camp duration and will be waiting for you in the chalet.
The nearest supermarket is located in Rusutsu, and there is also a convenience store a
short drive from the house for essentials.
During the week we’ll also head out together for an evening meal at one of our favourite
local restaurants.
